The Largest Intra-net in the World

According to Reuters, China internet population had hit 384 million in the beginning of this year.

On the other hand, China also has created a great-fire-wall that turns those internet users to become their intra-net users. There are many sites, such as face book, google blogs, scribd, amazon, etc... are not accessable in China.



Ironically, a philosopher in China about 2300 year ago, Zhuangzi 庄子 had told a fable that would apply to this current situation. - "The Frog in the Well."

In this fast moving era, call it information age, globalization, or what so ever. What ever things can change in 3 years now, in terms of scale, would require at least 30 years if it took place a century ago. Therefore, access to timely information is very important, and internet is one of the most valuable tool that one can use for doing research. Building a fire-wall to limit the access is like putting the people in the well...
