Virtual Moms!
Bills, tuition fees, household necessities, and everything that concerns money-these are the things that drive moms crazy! Making both ends meet becomes a monthly dilemma. The lifestyle of today seems to be incessantly increasing, changing and getting more expensive!

As a result, the long-time-ago scenario of father goes out to earn a living and the mother stays in to keep the house is no longer applicable. Ideally nowadays, both parents joined forces to provide for the family.

Being a mother ,I still believe in the notion that at least a parent stays in the house to better guide the children and to keep the house organized. However, being married to an ordinary employee, having two kids, and paying the house’s monthly amortizations for seemingly a lifetime, still mean falling short of the budget.

For years, I’ve been arguing with myself, ”should I go back to work? But my kids are still small and fragile. But the money I was receiving was never enough. But how can I save for the future of my kids and for emergencies? A lot of buts…!

But lol! I realized that the constant changing and increasing lifestyle actually offers an alternative way to answer our expenses. Since a lot of households aim to purchase their own computers/laptops and internet connections, notwithstanding the accessibility of internet cafes side by side almost everywhere, it is wise to be productive with the cyber world.

There comes the online jobs a.k.a. work-at-home. Unemployment is no longer an issue now. Living in a remote areas where companies are far, or seeking for an income while taking care of the kids should not bug cyber people anymore.

Call center companies are at large and they have invaded the homes. That was my first try, the call center-at-home.

Then, odesk.com was introduced to me by a friend. It is a website where you find possible online jobs like blogging, article writing, call centers, virtual assistants, and even web and graphic designing. Employers keep on posting job opportunities and find the right contractors through odesk.com. I have proven it is secure and really paying.

Earn Online while at home
I completed my portfolio and passed all those tests that I deem necessary to boost my capabilities. I applied for several jobs that fit me. Not too long, an article writing job was offered to me by an e-commerce site. However, due to my household demands because I have two kids, I failed the expectations of my employer and my contract was ended…only with that employer. Thru odesk.com, my portfolio is forever available for the employers to view and consider.

For a while, I stopped working online. Until I thought I am ready, I accepted another offer. I never thought that out of thousands of competent contractors online. I can be recognized by this employer. After a series of online trainings, I was able to work as a judgment contributor for a huge and still expanding website.

Just like the processes and systems in an ordinary work, I went through a lot of experiences in this online job. I applied to several jobs and got ignored; landed on the training phase and failed; hired and sooner than I ever expected got my contract ended for some reasons. What’s important is that I didn’t give up. And I believed that since computers and web seem to always be part of growing technology, working online would then be forever in demand.

Working online is life itself. You learn from experiences. Everything is best gained through hard work and perseverance. Sometimes you win or lose. There will come a time when you fell in love with the work and then eventually, you got dumped and hurt badly. When the latter happens, it’s life! Moving on to the next fight should be the next step and keep yourself armored with the lessons learned from the past. There could be some sacrifices but it pays.

Being an “odesker” alone, I have learned that a lot of reading is important to remain in this job. Read and keep in mind all the instructions and do exactly as stated. It was not only once did I commit the mistake of overlooking a certain instruction or not reading an important one. And that is detrimental to the job status.

Professionalism is of next importance. Even if online job is not a personal or face to face kind of work, keeping your words and respecting your “workmates” should also be practiced. There are jobs that require specific time logs and attendance. Don’t “come” late and absences cannot be tolerated. Keeping an open communication with the employer and team is one of the best way to gain their confidence and to avoid committing mistakes.

There can be threats to your “safety”. But that should not be a hindrance to your desire to explore the web. Reading is still the key. Consulting the “network” you built or those online friends that you can trust will be of best help to avoid being the victim. 

And lastly, but not the least, enjoy what you are doing. It is only then, that you will realize where your heart is that will give you overwhelming inspiration to pursue your dream. It is possible. If you believe in yourself and love what you have, you can work-at-home, virtual moms!

That's the secret to a high earning business. Not skills from school - but real world marketing. It's the first key to starting up and sustaining online incomes.

Problem is, not a lot of people have a good marketing background. What you may have is a selling experience in MLM or insurance or real estate. That's not marketing.

Wouldn't it be great if you can learn marketing at home and during your part time? At an amount that's less than a typical marketing school would charge? And better if it's not text book marketing invented during the 70s but real - works today marketing that included Google Plus or Facebook Ads?

Imagine how quickly you can evaluate how good a business is - just by looking at their store, prices, offers -because you can recognize good marketing when you see one.

You'll never be scammed by "business offers" again - because you'd know the right questions to ask - the marketing questions.

Even Virtual Assistants can benefit from this - because great self marketing skills can get you those high paying clients.

You don't have to fail in another business venture again, wasting all that saved up money - only to see it go down the drain because you didn't figure out how to market your products. I've a student, Marvin- who's business partner argued that "we need more sales" and he said "we need more marketing".

His partner eventually left him and the business closed. So much for being "right" when the sales figures are telling you the truth: "You don't know marketing, hence the sales aren't going up."

But why do people still fail at this?
But aside from partnering with non-believers of marketing, why do other people fail in marketing education when they're starting off?
1. They lack commitment to learn marketing
2. They don't know who to believe in when it comes to marketing
3. They don't know how to separate marketing from selling, much less identify what good marketing is.
4. They're bombarded by too many gurus offering the winning lotto number to "automated marketing" online.
5. Online marketing changes so fast, it's hard to keep up.

How I Overcame it
Well this was the same story I had when I started. BS Computer Science degree, has no formal selling or marketing training. Didn't listen to my mentors in my MLM (networking company) so my sales were very low and everybody left me literally alone in Forever Living (the MLM).

I didn't read marketing books, I was trying to apply Rich Dad Poor Dad concepts practically on my own and was trying to convert the contents of the book One Minute Millionaire into something that can earn me something extra. It didn't work and I've tried for years. All my skill in using the internet wasn't enough. All my skill in programming VMS C and Visual Basic wasn't enough.

This went on for more than 10 years until I chanced upon the Manila based concerts of three of my favorite Christian Music Acts. You know the story, I volunteered to promote them because I loved them. I promoted them while learning how to promote through the inputs of marketing masters from my MP3 player (thought i couldn't afford an Ipod then) all in a span of one month per concert.

Marketing was the magic sauce that converted my ideas into money. Real money. Not an adsense account that you have to wait to reach $ 100 to collect. My first effort got me more than my monthly salary income in as little as 30 days since I began.

But I didn't stop there. A Marketing Guru said once "I purchase a lot of marketing books, some of them I haven't read, I think that staring at them in my little library has made me smarter!"

I believe he's right - counter intuitively, because eventually you will reach out for those books and read some of them. It beats having nothing to read at home - because you said "I'm not buying because I'm not reading today." Someday you will and it's great to have resources at arms length when you do.

Jomar's approach to teaching is really fun ( and funny i may say). There's no boring moment. He's a straight forward kind of guy ( that initially scares me haha ) answering questions directly to the point and will tell you exactly the do's and don'ts.

He will patiently guide you step by step and get through with it successfully. What made an impact to me is his sharing about his dreams and how important dreams are. I know his students have made him as an inspiration to reach for our dreams also.

A few years back but not until last year I began to explore seriously new ways of money making opportunities in the internet. I came across so many online money making ideas in the internet, and I actually tried some of them like pay per click and affiliate marketing. There are also plenty out there that offer get rich quick schemes but turn into become scams lately! At some point, I was also a victim of that! So please be aware of those get rich quick scheme.

However, one legitimate way to make money online that are increasingly becoming popular in the Philippines is to work as a Virtual Assistant or VA. My Reasons 

Here are the top 8 reasons why I want a virtual assistant jobs in the Philippines. As of now, Im only work part-time as a Virtual Assistant, since I have my regular 8-hour job. 

1. Place Freedom. As a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, I have the ability to work from the comfort of my home or any place I choose actually. I do not need to come to work or office everyday. I can do my work in any place I choose too.

2. Time Freedom. Since I do not need to come to work or report to office Monday to Friday, I have the freedom to set my own working time — when I want to work and for how long do I want to work. And I can tell my client that!

3. Freedom to Choose Work That Meets My Personal Needs. Not only being a Virtual Assistant gives me flexibility to work on my own time and place, it also gives me the ability to choose the kind of work that suits my preferences (kind of work, level of effort, etc), working style and temperament. It allows me to work within the bounds of my personal circumstances.

4. Opportunity to be more Entrepreneurial. When you work as a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, you work as an independent contractor, or self-entrepreneur. It helps to develop and train an entrepreneurial mindset, attitude and aptitude in me. For instance, I need to identify and define what services to offer, find a client, apply for a “gig”, negotiate with a client, etc. On top of that, it puts me in control to set my own price (although honestly I find this not easy to do, at least for now). I can start with simple, administrative tasks, and gradually scale up as I progress. For now I am happy to take on simple projects as I am still trying to get my footing. Note: Again this is NOT a technical course. If I discussed ALL programs in STEP BY STEP fashion, it will take more than a month non-stop. This is the introductory course that you can build on. If you can investigate how to use (for example, SKYPE) a program on your own, then you're going to be fine as a VA. However if you need more training --more training programs (session 2 and 3) are coming up.

No hiring guarantees, just training. 

1. Yes, there's no guarantee that you'll be hired in the end.  That's based on the needs of the employer and your attitudes and skills. 

2. Yes, this is exactly like any other work opportunity the difference being, it separates the serious person with a curious person. Serious people will do the assignment, curious people will not. Serious people will get a gig in a few months time - this is according to my track record. 

3. My role is to give you an edge over any other applicants and allow you to just be a VA to one employer and still be happily working at home -- while earning what you want.
