5 Reasons Why Time Is Gold

5 Reasons Why Time Is Gold

I’ve never really understood what the saying "Time is Gold" really meant until I learned a little more about the world of money. Time is an abstract concept that doesn’t really exist, just like money.

But the sheer mention of the word ignites a lot of emotions from different people. Those without it, are stressed out. Those with a lot of time on their hands are either bored or dreaming.

While pondering this old saying, I realized there are actually 5 things that explain why time can be considered Gold.

1. You can never get it back
The only thing in this world that you cannot get back (aside from life itself) is time. When you’ve spent 30 minutes of your time, you cannot get it back, however you desperately want it. You can invent the greatest time machine all you want, but at this point in human evolution, there’s just no way of turning back time. That’s why the emotion of "regret" is very powerful. If only you could turn back time somehow, you would give everything just to have it.

The ironic thing is, all the material things we trade our time for can be taken back. I know of someone who lost her home to foreclosure, but managed to get it back years after because of her determination. Donald Trump, the billionaire real-estate magnate lost a lot of money, but managed to get it all back and more. Unlike material things, once time passes by, you can never bring it back.

2. You only have 24 hours in a day
This is really an amazing equalizer. Everyone gets the same chance at life. We all have 24 hours in a day. Even the richest people on earth only have 24 hours in a day. The poorest of the poor also have 24 hours in a day. The only difference — they use their 24 hours very differently.

If you don’t like what your life is right now, there’s only one thing you need to do — change the way you spend your time. You don’t need to place your hope in winning the lottery, or deceiving other people for your own financial gain. You can get rich with integrity by learning to value your own time, and valuing other people’s time as well.

3. You can trade time for money
You can trade your time for money. How? Simply get a job and watch the next 40 years of your life traded for a monthly salary? How much is your time worth? Are you earning enough? Is your time worth that much?

It doesn’t matter whether you are CEO or an entry-level employee, you still trade your time for money. When you don’t go to work, you stop earning. Unless of course, you are investing that time to build your own business, or investing your earnings on income-producing assets, that, hopefully someday allow you to hire other people to do the work for you and you can then spend your time playing with your kids, doing the things you love to do.

4. You can leverage your time
Why is it that even though everyone only has 24 hours in a day, some people can get a lot more done than others? Reason? Leverage. Henry Sy employs thousands of people to run his business empire. By so doing, he multiplies his time by thousands. With that thousands of hours, millions is earned by his businesses each single day.

Compared that into a one-man show employee. His single-handed efforts, without any form of leverage, can only get to 24 hours, no matter how strong or skilled he may be.

5. You can make the most of what you have
The hard truth is that your time is limited. You never know when your time will end. But one thing is for sure, you can make the most of the time that you have.

Spend your "golden" time with your loved ones. Take care of them. Enjoy what life has to offer. Remember that we are just passersby in this world we call life. When you live your life by the moment, you leave a long-lasting impression into the lives of other people…and your life’s meaning would be fulfilled.

Net worth update (June 2011)

- Net worth increased by $955.12 this month due to money saved from allowance and internship.
- Schroder Commodity Fund NAV dropped by $575.32 due to the US decision to release oil reserves and the negative market sentiment as a result of the Greece debt crisis.

I managed to stay on my spending target of $10/day and total expenses for the month of June was $281.30

Surprise

I have spent a total of $5.20 for the past 3 days. Now I am able to spend $20 per day for the remaining 2 days of the month and still stay on my target of $10/day.

To add on to my happiness, I received a gift of $100 cash today. To pamper my girlfriend(which I have not done for a long time), I will spend this $100 purely on dates and not save a single cent of it. However, this $100 would be spent carefully in order to achieve maximum utility. This is how I am going to spend it:

2 sessions of weekend movies : $40
Chips or candies for movie : $9
One for one pasta : $25
Girlfriend's favourite dessert at ion : $10
A pair of Universal studio after hours tickets : $16

Total: $100 (to be spent over 2 weekends)

5 days left to the end of the month

I have managed to spend less than $10/day for the past 25 days. The cash portion of my net worth will increase at the end of the month. However, the value of my mutual funds and commodity fund might decrease due to the negative market sentiments recently. As long as I maintain my expenses at less than $10/day, I believe my net worth will not decrease as the cash saved from my internship and allowance will offset the drop in the value of my funds.

Change Your Money’s Emotional Association

Change Your Money’s Emotional Association

Truly Rich Club
As a member of Truly Rich Club of Bo Sanchez, I'll just share some letter I received from Truly Rich Club in order to give you an idea of what kind of information and inspirational thoughts Truly Rich Club giving to their member from Bo Sanchez. Here it goes.

Change Your Money’s Emotional Association

Every object in this world triggers an emotion in you. Everything has what I call an “emotional association”. For many people, money’s emotional association is this…

“Money = Evil”

If this emotional association is branded in your subconscious, you’ll never get rich. Because we don’t like to be evil. So we’ll reject money like it was the devil itself. Unless you change your emotional beliefs about money, you’ll never become rich. It’s impossible. Here’s the truth: You’ll gravitate towards what you subconsciously want, and avoid what you subconsciously do not want. If you believe that money is evil, you will subconsciously avoid money. Remember the people who criticized me for teaching about money? They’re very few. So I made an informal survey.

I discovered that 80 percent of them were financially struggling. Why? Because in their minds, they believe a spiritual person shouldn’t be talking about money or focusing on money. So subconsciously, they avoid it. And inwardly, they actually feel more holy because of their financial struggles. I pitied them so much. But the idea that “money is evil” isn’t in the Bible. Instead, let me quote three passages for you to change your emotional association of money.

Create a New Meaning for Money

I’m a father of two fantastic boys. That’s why I understand this next passage. Jesus says, So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him (Matthew 7:11). This is so true! I’m not perfect, but I love to give good gifts to my kids. Instead of “Money = Evil”, burn this new emotional association in your brain…

“Money = God’s Provision”

The Bible says, It is God who gives you the power to create wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). Question: If God thinks that wealth is evil, why would He give us the power to create wealth in the first place? Pretty illogical, right? Create this new emotional association in your brain…

“Money = God’s Power”

When you earn money, you’re using God’s power. When you work, God’s power is working within you. Confess this, “I have the power to create wealth.” Say this Faith Declaration every day! One final passage. The Bible says, The Lord takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant (Psalms 35:27). Wow. God is happy when He sees you successful. He claps. He sings. He hops. He does the boogie when He sees you blessed.

I think I know the feeling. I feel the same way with my helpers at home. Last year, despite investing in the stock market, one of my house helpers rebuilt her small house for her family in her distant barrio. My other helper bought a tiny property in her hometown. Gosh, I was so proud for them. Yes, I felt pleasure in their prosperity! And I believe God takes pleasure when we prosper too. So burn this emotional association in your brain…

“Money = God’s Pleasure”

Some people think God wants us to be poor because Jesus was poor. Yes, Jesus was poor. But I believe poverty is a special call He gives to very special people, like celibates in religious orders. But the Bible also says that you need to provide for the needs of your relatives and immediate family, or you’re worse than an unbeliever (1 Timothy 5:8). If you’re like me, you’ll understand what I’ll say next: My heart is big and I have a very big family! Oh, this topic is very close to my heart. Let me tell why…

How I Changed My Belief about Money

Once upon a time, I was a poor missionary. I had very little money. Once, my hair was growing long. People were telling me, “Bo, you need a haircut.” I said, “I want to look groovy.” Actually, I didn’t have money for the barber. One of my joys was eating in a restaurant and reading a book. But many times, before I entered a Jollibee (Yes, there was already a Jollibee then. I’m not that old!), I had to first count the coins in my pocket.

Many times, I had to turn around—because I couldn’t afford even one burger. I couldn’t even buy the things I needed for my preaching.

For example, I couldn’t afford books. I would go to a bookstore, read a book, return it, go home, and go back the next day to continue reading it. If the sales lady or the security guard looks at me in a funny way, I’d just go to another branch. But all that was nothing. What was most painful to me was my inability to help the people I wanted to help…

“Why Don’t I Become Rich?”

I remember a friend who called me in the middle of the night. He said, “Please pray for my baby, Bo. She can’t breathe. We’re in the emergency room of a hospital now. They’re asking for a deposit, but we don’t have money.” I realized they weren’t just asking for prayers. They were asking for money. But I didn’t have any! So I called up a friend who I knew was rich. But no one was answering the phone. (It was 2am.) I tried another friend.

As I dialed, I remembered he was abroad. I called up a third person. And a fourth person. And a fifth person. All night, I was trying to call up my rich friends. And then it hit me, “Why don’t I become rich myself?” And little by little, the wrong emotional link of money was replaced by new emotional links. I began to see money as God’s provision, God’s power, and God’s pleasure.

Soon, I was praying a new prayer: “Lord, prosper me so that I can prosper others.”

Prosper Your Mind

I don’t know what you’re financial condition is now. You may be in debt. You may be in a financial famine. You may be without a job or stuck in a low-paying job. You may be where I was 12 years ago—wanting to help people but not having enough to help.

Friend, here’s my message to you: There’s hope. Prosper your mind and you prosper your money. The reason why many people don’t prosper is because their wrong beliefs prevent them from prospering.

Here are five beliefs necessary for wealth:

1. You need to believe that God has left the decision to you to be rich or to be poor. He will respect your decision.
2. You need to believe that you can serve God with your wealth.
3. You need to believe that money is good if it’s in a good person’s hands. Will you be that good person?
4. You need to believe that you have the ability to be rich.
5. You need to believe that you deserve to be rich.

You Don’t Have to Be Poor
Friend, there is hope for you.
You don’t have to be poor.
You don’t have to be buried in debt.
You don’t have to suffer financial struggles.
You can be financially free.
How?
Change your beliefs. Prosper your mind so you can prosper your money.

May your dreams come true,
Bo Sanchez

Estimated future monthly expenses

My average monthly expenses is around $300-$400 currently. However, expenses will definitely increase by a few folds after i graduate and start working full time. In addition, I would be giving my parents monthly allowance which will most probably be $400($200 each). The following is a breakdown of my estimated future monthly expenses.

Parents allowance : $400
Handphone bill: $50
Internet bill: $50
Transport: $100
Miscellaneous(food, entertainment, etc) : $600

Total: $1,200

My estimated total expenses would be approximately $1,200. Given that my estimated starting pay is around $2,800, the take home amount is $2,240(after CPF). Therefore, I would be able to save about $1,000 per month. If my girlfriend save the same amount and we both save our 13th month bonus as well, we would be able to save a total of $28,480 per year. After 3 years of working full time and assuming no pay increment/promotion for both of us, we would have saved up $85,440. Adding in the $70,000 that I aim to accumulate upon graduation, net worth would be $155,440(excluding CPF OA). By then, it would probably be time for marriage.

Meet Your New Friend, Sam

Meet Your New Friend, Sam
Strategic Averaging Method (SAM)

As a member of Truly Rich Club of Bo Sanchez, I'll just share some updates regarding about investing in Philippine Stock Market I received from Truly Rich Club in order to give you an idea of what kind of information Truly Rich Club giving to their member from Bo Sanchez. Here it goes.

Meet Your New Friend, Sam.
By SAM, I don’t mean Uncle Sam.
By SAM, I mean Strategic Averaging Method.

There Were Only Two Ways of Getting into the Stock Market, Until…

In my mind, there were only two ways to invest in the stock market: (1) passive investing and (2) active trading. With SAM, I’m introducing a third way. (I didn’t invent SAM. My mentor did. He’s a billionaire who has done all three methods with incredible success. The stock market has been his playground for the past 38 years.) Before SAM, I taught people to be passive investors, not active traders. Reason? Eighty five percent of people lose money in the stock market. That’s a fact. And most of those are active traders.

Active traders buy and sell stocks every day. I have friends who are successful active traders, and believe me, they’re very rare. They trade full time, they study every day, and they follow very strict rules. Without these rules, active trading is gambling, period. Passive investing is long-term. Active trading is short-term. Passive investing only looks at the quality of the companies. Active trading only looks at their share price.

Passive investing comes by many names. Many people call it “money cost averaging”, or “peso cost averaging”, or “dollar cost averaging”. Citiseconline, our preferred online broker, calls it the Easy Investment Program (EIP).

So what is SAM?

SAM is in between passive investing and active trading. SAM is semi-passive investing. SAM uses the 4 Rules of Passive Investing, tweaks them, and adds a 5th rule.

To refresh your memory, here are the 4 Rules of Passive Investing:

Rule 1: Invest monthly for 20 years or more.
Buying stocks each month using your small monthly savings. It’s really making the stock market your piggy bank. You do this long-term—for 20 years or more! But in SAM, we tweak this rule. If you use SAM, there’ll be times when you don’t invest, and choose to stay away from the market. These are times when we believe the market is overbought and is going down. We’d rather wait for the market to go down and buy when the prices are cheaper.

Rule 2: Invest even when there’s a crisis.
Passive investing means disregarding if the prices are up or down, if there’s a tsunami, earthquake, coup d’etat, or recession. You just keep buying month after month after month. In SAM, we tweak this rule too. If possible, we try not to buy on the way down, we try to buy when it’s already down.

Rule 3: Invest only in Giants.
Passive investing means buying only established, enduring, blue chip companies that we believe will be there for the next 50 years. We don’t dabble in penny stocks. Because we believe in people who buy penny stocks will become penniless.

In SAM, we tweak this rule too. Generally, we don’t buy penny stocks. At rare times though, we find gems among them. And we make an “intelligent speculation”. Because of its volatility, we only put “extra funds” in these gems.

Rule 4: Invest in many Giants.
Passive investing means not buying one Giant but a handful of Giants. Why? There’s such a thing as “Black Swan” in the stock market—when an unexpected event happens. We don’t want all our money to be in one company—and tragedy hits that company. If you’re doing passive investing, we recommend 10 Giant companies or more. If you’re doing SAM, we recommend five to six companies only, because we’re able to move from one company to another.

I repeat: SAM uses all 4 rules, although tweaked a bit. But it adds Rule 5. And Rule 5 is the magic sauce that makes SAM more profitable than passive investing.

The 5th Rule of SAM

What is the Rule 5?

Rule 5: We buy when the price is beneath our “Buy Below Price” and we sell when the price is near our “Target Price”.

In my Stocks Update Report, I’ll provide both the Target Price and the Buy Below Price for you. Remember, SAM is in between passive investing and active trading. In one sense, it is semi-passive investing. Passive investing never use timing. Active trading is all about timing. SAM uses a little bit of timing. Passive investing looks only at how good the companies are. Active trading looks only at the share price. SAM looks at both: companies and share price.

Passive investing never sells. Active trading always sells every day or every week. SAM sells after a few months. We’ll give you the “Buy Below Price” and the “Target Price” of each of our recommended Stocks.

Here are 4 Big Advantages of SAM

1. Faster Giants
As I write this, Citiseconline is recommending 16 stocks for its Easy Investment Program (EIP). They’re fantastic, enduring companies that will most likely be there 50 years from now. But from experience, having so many stocks to choose from can cause confusion. And confusion causes inaction.

For SAM, we’ll narrow down the list to five to six stocks only.

Lesser choices mean lesser stress for you! Why narrow down the list to five to six stocks? Because not all Giants are created equal. Some Giants are so gigantic, their growth may be slower. Some Giants are in a mature industry, so the growth will be minimal at best. So we’ll choose the Giants that we believe will rise faster.

Obviously, we don’t have a crystal ball with 100 percent accuracy. So we could be wrong in one or two of our selections. But we’re hoping that our right picks will be enough to make your money grow faster than if you were doing totally passive investing.

2. Lower Prices
Just like in passive investing, you’re to buy a particular stock each month. But in SAM, you only buy when its price is beneath our “Buy Below Price.” Here’s a secret in making more money in stocks: You make your money when you buy, not just when you sell. What do I mean? If you buy it at a cheaper price, your earnings increase many times more. How does SAM do this? I’ll give you a “Buy Below Price” for each of our recommended stocks. This will prevent you from chasing a rising stock all the way to the top.

3. Secured Profits
In passive investing, you never sell. In SAM, we’ll tell you to sell after a few months—when our recommended stock hits our Target Price. By selling, you lock-in your profits. You take your profits off the table. You take your money from a company that’s already gone up and put it in another company that still has room to go up. This multiplies your earnings nicely.

4. Nice Jackpots
And then there are jackpots. Lepanto (LC) was our jackpot stock this year. My mentor mentioned it to me last December 2010—and I wrote about it right away. If you bought when I recommended it last December, you would have earned 157 percent by now. I warned people that it’s a volatile stock. It may go up or down. So this isn’t our bread and butter in SAM. But I told you that if you had extra money (that you’re willing to lose if things go wrong), you can buy Lepanto (LC). My mentor calls these calls “intelligent speculations”. I repeat: As a rule, we don’t speculate with penny stocks.

But every once in a while, he finds a gem among the penny stocks. It’s very rare. But when he finds one, he’ll tell me—and I’ll tell you. The risks are higher, that’s why I ask you to put your “extra money” only.

When Can We Start Buying?

For the past four weeks now since May 2011, I told everyone NOT to buy new shares. And I asked the more aggressive among you to sell half your shares or even sell all their shares. I’ll email you if we can start buying. Keep collecting cash for that day when we’re ready to jump.

May your dreams come true,
Bo Sanchez

8 Reasons Why I Want a Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines

8 Reasons Why I Want a Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines

A few years back but not until last year I began to explore seriously new ways of money making opportunities in the internet. I came across so many online money making ideas in the internet, and I actually tried some of them like pay per click and affiliate marketing. There are also plenty out there that offer get rich quick schemes but turn into become scams lately! At some point, I was also a victim of that! So please be aware of those get rich quick scheme.

However, one legitimate way to make money online that are increasingly becoming popular in the Philippines is to work as a Virtual Assistant or VA. I've heard of this virtual assistant jobs opportunity only last April 2011 and it sufficiently piqued my interest. When I saw an advertisement about "How to Work from Home as a Virtual AssistantSeminar" by Jomar Hilario I signed up without hesitation and hoping it will open to me a new opportunity to earn online. I knew then it's the right option for me, and after the seminar, my resolve to be a virtual assistant in the Philippines was even bolstered.

Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines

You might be wondering what a Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines is. A Virtual Assistant is a person who works remotely (via internet, telephone, fax) as an independent contractor and provides services to a client for a pre-determined price. The services of a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines could provide vary; it could be professional, managerial, administrative, technical, creative and others. A Virtual Assistant can work for an individual client or organization/company.

You may click here for more information about Virtual Assistant Jobs in the Philippines and Work from Home seminar opportunities by Jomar Hilario so you can avail the Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines too.

My Reasons

Here are the top 8 reasons why I want a virtual assistant jobs in the Philippines. As of now, Im only work part-time as a Virtual Assistant, since I have my regular 8-hour job.

1. Place Freedom. As a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, I have the ability to work from the comfort of my home or any place I choose actually. I do not need to come to work or office everyday. I can do my work in any place I choose too.

2. Time Freedom. Since I do not need to come to work or report to office Monday to Friday, I have the freedom to set my own working time — when I want to work and for how long do I want to work. And I can tell my client that!

3. Freedom to Choose Work That Meets My Personal Needs. Not only being a Virtual Assistant gives me flexibility to work on my own time and place, it also gives me the ability to choose the kind of work that suits my preferences (kind of work, level of effort, etc), working style and temperament. It allows me to work within the bounds of my personal circumstances.

4. Opportunity to be more Entrepreneurial. When you work as a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, you work as an independent contractor, or self-entrepreneur. It helps to develop and train an entrepreneurial mindset, attitude and aptitude in me. For instance, I need to identify and define what services to offer, find a client, apply for a “gig”, negotiate with a client, etc. On top of that, it puts me in control to set my own price (although honestly I find this not easy to do, at least for now). All these help to develop in me the mindset of an entrepreneur!

5. Ability to Scale Up my Work. Being a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, it gives me flexibility to take on as many projects or clients as I can handle. I can start with simple, administrative tasks, and gradually scale up as I progress. For now I am happy to take on simple projects as I am still trying to get my footing. And hopefully, when I get constant stream of projects in the future, I will also have the freedom to accept or refuse a particular project or client, depending on my personal circumstances.

6. Opportunity to Learn and Develop New Skills. In the current marketplace where competition is much fiercer than before, one needs to be strongly competitive to be successful. I am not a very techie person but being a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, it gives me a lot of opportunity to learn entirely new computer skills. In fact in recent weeks, I’ve learned new computer programs/tools that I can apply in my Virtual Assistant work. I’ve learned how to blog too! Isn’t that great?

7. Be My Own Boss. Not only being a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines gives me time, place and work freedom, it also lets me to be my own boss. And I love that idea! I hope I will achieve this in no short time. Of course, I still have to work with my clients and be accountable to them, but after the project I will have the freedom to decide if I want to continue to work with him or not. I have the freedom to refuse a client as much as a client has freedom to refuse me.

8. Additional Income. On top of the benefits I mentioned above, yes, doing Virtual Assistant jobs in the Philippines can give me extra income. It is a good supplement to my income from the regular 8-hour job. And I plan to use this extra income into more productive economic ventures. In fact, if being a Virtual Assistant jobs will greatly click for me, I might even decide to give up my 8-hour job and work as a full-time Virtual Assistant.

I know the road to Virtual Assistant success is not going to be easy. Thanks to the training I received last April from Jomar Hilario. That I believe gave me an edge over others already. I am no quitter, and I am ready for the next new challenge!
